This Christmas season Stephen McKenna created a literal, and entirely edible, homage to his family’s gingerbread cottage in the Camp Ground in Oak Bluffs.

Mr. McKenna, a retired principal from Lexington and an Oak Bluffs summer resident, has been making completely edible gingerbread houses since 1979. This year’s house was a stunningly accurate replica of his family’s Camp Ground cottage, the well-known pink house across the street from the Tabernacle that turned 150 years old this year.

Mr. McKenna completed his masterpiece by flashlight on Christmas Eve, after an ice storm cut the power to his house in Lexington.
