The rule that the heat gets turned off on April 1 has slowly gone down the drain. I am hoping by Friday temperatures are up like the weatherman says they will be. Meanwhile we can enjoy the sun that was out this past weekend.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated this past week. Big balloons go out to Italo Fernandes, who celebrated April 7; and to Julia Marino, Jamie Rivard and Mauricio Sampaio, who celebrated April 8; Mabel DeRoche, and Francis Paciello, April 9; Madelyn Crowell, April 10; Caroline Dolby, April 11; Alyana Correia and Bianca Robadel, April 12; and to Noah Osborn, who celebrates his day today, April 13.

Donaroma’s Nursery is now open in full swing, We have some great plants and lots of soil fertilizer, mulch, and so on. But we need the weather to put the plants out. If you want to get a touch of spring, come and take a walk through the big greenhouse, It certainly makes you want to do some planting, so we are holding ourselves back. But come check it out.

Congratulations to Randy Dull and Heather McElhinney who were united in marriage by Randy’s sister Jeanette Maciel, on April 1 at the Chilmark Community Center. Here’s to many happy years together.

It was great to see the lights on at our neighbor’s house — Harry and Judy Stotz who were here for the weekend.

There have been a lot of homeowners here starting to get their home open. The town is starting to wake up. Landscapers are cleaning yards and painters are busy scraping and getting ready to freshen up the paint on the fences and houses.
