The fall sitting of Dukes County superior court begins Oct. 1 at the Edgartown courthouse, with a light docket scheduled. The superior court session continues until Nov. 2.

The Hon. Cornelius J. Moriarty 2nd will preside.

There are two civil trials scheduled, but no pending criminal matters set for trial. The grand jury will convene Monday to consider any new indictments.

The October session will be the final time Joseph E. Sollitto Jr. sits as clerk-magistrate of the superior court. Mr. Sollitto has served 42 years in the post and will retire in January. His successor will be chosen in the Nov. 6 state election.
