Each year in the off-season PathwaysArts takes over the Chilmark Tavern to become an arts oasis. Nearly every night of the week one can find a poetry reading, dance party, art installation, the range is wide and deep — ocean deep, this year.

This winter Pathways is hosting a monthly film series on the oceans. First up is a trip to the Pacific Ocean, with a trio of films on Friday, Dec. 7 beginning at 7 p.m.

The films are The Wild Pacific and Destination Baja produced by PBS, the result of research by Carl Safina, and a short film called Espiritu Santo by Johnny Friday of Baja Productions.
