They say April showers bring May flowers. But this April we have had enough rain for May, June, July and August flowers. But I know by August we will be looking for rain. I am just glad the wind has finally calmed down. When the sun comes out the leaves are going to burst. I noticed a lot of the maples are opening and the cherry tree at Jardin Mahoney is spectacular. It won’t be long now before we are green.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Isadora Cordeiro, and Maya Nascimento, who celebrated April 20; Emanuelly Borges, April 21; Emily Freeman and Alexis Lavigne, April 25; and to Adriana Young who celebrates her day today, April 26.

Have you noticed that it is light to almost 8 p.m.? I love it but have mixed emotions about the light at 5 a.m., as the birds are singing at the sight of the first sun ray. It is great when I have to work, but days off are a little annoying. But all in all it is great to have the light longer.

School is back in session after a week off. I am disappointed this year that the Dairy Queen opened during school vacation. It was always so fun to watch the kids running out of the school on DQ opening day and forming an almost parade to get the ice cream.

It is great to have Christian Polleys home for a visit. Christian is living and working in El Salvador. His parents Tina and Jonathan and sister and brother, Audrey and JJ, are also happy to have him home.
