It is Monday and there was this big ball of fire in the sky. People were out and about even though it was not the warmest day and the wind was blowing keeping it cool. What a difference that ball made in the mood of everyone around. Now the grass will grow faster and the leaves are popping. What a difference a day makes.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day. Big balloons go out to Tayla BenDavid, Ayla Bennett, Aleeya Holley and Hector Oliveira, who all celebrated May 5; Giovanna De Moraes, Ruby Della Russo and Samuel Pinto, May 7; Jahzarah McIntosh, May 8; Harrison Lazarus, May 9; and to Maria Fonseca, and Ava Trott who celebrate their day today May 10.

The fifth annual Pink & Green Weekend, which is a celebration of Spring and Mother’s Day, will be held this weekend in Edgartown. Enjoy the festivities.

Mary Ellen Kresel was in town for a few days, from the Villages in Florida. We had dinner at the Wharf, which was awesome, and caught up with Margaret Stafursky and Mary Ellen’s son, Josh. It was a great night and we saw lots of pictures of Mary Ellen’s two sets of twin grandchildren, who are growing up way to fast.

My neighbors and friends have been having fun watching the hummingbirds returning to their feeders. They are also reporting orioles and indigo buntings. I have yet to see one but I am waiting patiently.

The Friends of the Edgartown Library are having a sale of mural art by Margot Datz and beautiful plants on Saturday May 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

I would like to wish all you special women out there a very Happy Mother’s Day. May you get some time to relax and do something you enjoy doing.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
