At last, a little rain in Aquinnah on Tuesday morning.

All roads lead to the Fair, which begins on August 15 at the MV Agricultural Society fairgrounds.

The Aquinnah Artisans will have another fair on Saturday, August 10 from noon to 4 p.m. at the town hall. The Aquinnah Public Library staff will provide baked goods and beverages for your pleasure while you enjoy shopping for a variety of locally made goods.

Martha’s Vineyard Community Services presents the annual Chicken Alley Thrift Shop Art & Collectibles Sale on Sunday, August 11 from 1 to 5 p.m. This year it will be at a new location behind 76 Main Street in Tisbury, near the corner of Church Street and Main. Many great treasures to be found.

Judy Belain and her friend Anthony Triconi have returned to Wayland after spending most of July at her Belain homestead. Her brother Cedric Belain and his friend Ralph Smith have cleared all the overgrowth away from the pond in her back yard. There just might be a little ice skating there over the winter.

Congratulations to Kyle Colter and Sophia Welch on the birth of their daughter at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital on Monday morning.

Anna and Al Lana were here vacationing. Their son Albert, his wife Meg and their children Adrian, Gavin, Ben and Emma were here last week. Daughter Shari with husband Steve and children Amelia and Aaron were here. They all visited Aquinnah to see the beautiful Cliffs, enjoyed State Beach where the water was amazing and, of course, the kids loved the Arcade. Shari and Amelia painted rocks and delivered one each to Lazy Frog, Bunch of Grapes, Rainy Day and Island Cove mini golf. The Island is so special to all of them, especially after growing up in Lobsterville every summer.

Ally Macey returned to her home in Colorado this week after spending the month of July with parents John and Amy Macey and youngest brother Zach. While here, Ally spent most of her time working at Cliffhangers.

Barry and Dottie Sullivan were lucky to enjoy their daughter Jackie and her husband Jeff’s company for 10 days. They celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary here. They have been enjoying some nice beach days at Philbin Beach. Barry’s sister and husband were here with their 20-year-old triplet nieces. They all enjoyed a fantastic evening at The Outermost Inn before they left to go back home. This week their son Patrick and his wife Donna return for 2 weeks with grandchildren Caden, Brecken and little baby Harlow. Their visit is anxiously awaited.

Congratulations to Christopher Paul Manning who was advanced to Boatswain’s Mate First Class as a member of the United States Navy Reserves, in a ceremony on June 7 in California.

Happy 50th anniversary wishes to Arnold Zack and his bride Norma Wilner Zack as they celebrate on August 10.

Happy 41st anniversary wishes to Barry and Judith Manning Milavsky on August 11.

Happy 36th anniversary wishes to Edward and Fawn Fantasia as they celebrate on August 13.

Happy birthday wishes on August 12 to Sasha Gerhard and Laina Benoit who will both be thirteen years old; Joan Gentry Patadal will observe her special day on August 13, along with Rick Duarte. A very special happy birthday to Vernon Jordan as he celebrates on August 15, sharing that day with Kate Taylor. Isabelle Lumb parties on the 16th and Carl Crocker will party on August 17.
