The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School boys track team finished in eighth place out of 42 teams at the MIAA District 5 meet on Sunday at Reggie Lewis Stadium in Roxbury. The girls track team finished in 14th place.
Dash Christy qualified for next weekend’s Division 2 All State meet with a second place finish in the 55-meter hurdles, breaking his own regional high school record. Only the top three place winners in each event qualify for the All State meet.
The Vineyard will also be represented at the All State meet by the girls 4x800-meter relay team consisting of Sydney Brown, Eloise Christy, Yayla DeChiara and Adrienne Christy.
Other results include a fourth place finish in the 55-meter hurdles by Jojo Bonneau, a sixth place finish by the boys 4x200-meter relay team consisting of Dash Christy, Jojo Bonneau, Braden Sayles and Nick Pecararo, and a 10th place finish in the 4x800 meter relay consisting of Isaac Richards, Zach Utz, Vito Aello, Jonathan Norton.
Zach Utz placed seventh in the mile, Nick Pecararo placed 16th in the 300-meter run, Paige Pogue finished in eighth place in the shotput, and Ciara Hoyt, Nicole Menton, Shantavia Whylly and Anabelle Biggs placed 14th in the 4x200-meter relay.
