Striper, the fifteen-year old torbi, has found her forever home and her adoption has been finalized.
Mona needs a special someone. She was an outdoor barn cat making her shy around people. Volunteers have been working with her and she enjoys petting and purrs and purrs. She’s about a year old and is gray with a little white on her chest and big golden eyes. She may always be shy but also may bond strongly with “her person.”
Mac also needs home where he can live outdoors and be a barn cat. He’s a young tuxedo and is very shy.
Why is Tawny still here? She is such a sweet, friendly, funny, playful bunny that someone must want to give her a loving home. Tawny is the juvenile, dwarf Dutch bunny, and she’s been spending her time hopping around the hallway. She’s hoping for a home with someone who will let her out of her cage, play with her and let her stretch her legs. She’s been hand raised, and adores people. She also uses a litter box!
We have two black and white, Abyssinian Guinea Pigs staying at the shelter, and both have rosettes on their heads. These boys are brothers who do get along so can be caged together, but do not need to be adopted together. The larger of the two is Mr. President and his brother is Dolphin, who is the one with white on his face. Both are hand raised and very nice piggies.
Mark your calendars, the annual rabies clinic will be held on March 7 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the West Tisbury Fire Station. All dogs must be on leash, and cats and ferrets need to be in carriers. The fee is $25 per animal and the vaccine is good for one year unless a prior rabies certificate is presented.
If anyone would like to make some donations from our wish list we are in need of laundry detergent, bleach, air fresheners, paper towels and toilet paper. We welcome the help of adult volunteers to answer the phone, meet and greet people and help with other projects around the building and grounds. If interested give us a call or stop by for more information.
