The sun has been shining. The flip flops are out and we are getting comfortable in this warm weather. The trees are budding and the birds are singing earlier and earlier. How can we complain?

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Kevin Castro and Nicholas Rabeni, who celebrated May 2; Adeline Chandler, May 3; Tayla BenDavid, Aleeya Holley and Hector Oliveira, May 5; Ruby Della Russo and Samuel Pinto, May 7; and to Vitoria De Souza and Jahzarah McIntosh, who celebrate their day today May 8.

I think we are all doing pretty well with the quarantining. I see people walking and riding bikes. I feel badly for the kids being home but I also see parents bring them to the parking lot at the school so they can ride freely around there safely. It is nice to see and hear the kids as long as it is done with caution and social distancing.

One thing that is really going on during all this is cooking and baking. People are making their own bread, different types of cake recipes, squares, cookies and many different ways to cook meals. I have not seen many salad or veggie recipes, though. I am not a bread eater but the smell of it cooking is so wonderful I almost want to make it just for that.

I would like to wish all you special ladies a very Happy Mothers Day. It will certainly be a different one but I hope you can live chat or Zoom or social distance with your children. I certainly hope you have a special day.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
