At this time, our Island animal shelter remains open for official business and by appointment only.

Bear needs home! Bear is a seven-year-old, Australian Shepherd/Chow Chow mix. He’s neutered, up-to-date on all his shots and ready to go.

Bear is a really nice dog, about the size of an Ausssie, who will be a great family pet.

Bug’s adoption fell through so she is still looking for a forever home. Bug is an eight-months-old, silver tabby, Manx kitten who the staff describes as a 12! She is a real doll and as loving as can be.

We have a special needs cat looking for a home as an only cat. Summer is a nine-year-old, calico ragdoll mix with blue eyes who is very beautiful and sweet as can be. This girl has a true ragdoll personality and adores attention. She suffers from a respiratory issue that has been difficult to treat. Her test results were negative for FIP and she is now on medications that should help her out. Since all we want for her is to have a good, loving home, the adoption fee will be waived for anyone who has it in their heart to give her a home.

Also available for adoption are Pee Wee, a six-year-old, tabby and white Manx, who is very sweet and gentle. This is a sweet boy who loves attention.

Jack is a twelve-years-old, orange male who likes to hide, but enjoys a good round of petting as well. And he is an orange male.

We also have two females available. Tux is six years of age with a beautiful, silky long coat. And her markings are tuxedo of course. This girl has started coming out of her shell and couldn’t be sweeter or more affectionate.

Mabel is Bug’s mother. She’s a gray and white, tabby with a super sweet personality. She’s only about a year or two old so still a playful youngster.

Our other tabby cat looking for a home is Holly. Holly has been with us for three years now. She’s about seven years of age and has been living as the shelter cat. Being out and about has helped her become more trusting of people. She still, however, will need someone with cat savvy due to her unique, feline personality.

Who wants a Guinea pig(s)? We have two adorable sisters, about six weeks old, who both need homes. One of the two girls is brown and white with adorable white eyebrows and a white blaze, while the other is a white and black. Volunteers have been handling these babies to be sure they adore people when they go to their new homes.

If anyone would like to make some donations from our wish list we are in need of laundry detergent, bleach, air fresheners, paper towels and toilet paper.

We’d like to thank everyone for their donations of used towels and such, but request that you refrain from making donations of this type at this time.

If anyone is in need of cat or dog food, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. And if anyone needs any crates we have an abundance and are happy to share. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.
