At this time, our Island animal shelter remains open for official business and by appointment only.
We have more adoption news to report. Louie, the big tabby boy, has found his forever home. Best of luck Louie.
We have a few cats in need of homes. Jack is a 12-year old, orange male who needs a family soon. He’s been very depressed and needs a home with love to feel secure again. He likes to hide but does respond to petting.
Besides Jack we have two special needs cats looking for angels. Summer is a female Ragdoll/Manx mix, and Cloud is a gray male. The adoption fee will be waived on both of these cats in hopes of finding them permanent homes.
Also available for adoption is a black, male baby bunny, and two female, baby Guinea Pigs. All of these babies are hand raised. Stop in to see if one (or more) of our residents catches your fancy.
Due to Covid-19, like last year, our Garden Party will be an online auction. Our jewelry offerings have been very successful in the past, thanks to all our donors, and we want this to be a spectacular year as well. We currently have a wonderful collection of silver, a small number of gold pieces, and high-end costume jewelry, some of it signed. Please consider donating some items of value for our upcoming auction. The shelter residents are grateful for all the community does to keep them safe and to find them loving homes.
If anyone would like to make some donations from our wish-list we are in need of laundry detergent, bleach, air fresheners, paper towels and toilet paper. We’d also like to thank everyone for their donations of used towels and such, but request that you refrain from making donations of this type at this time.
If anyone is in need of cat or dog food, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. And if anyone needs any crates we have an abundance and are happy to share. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours. The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662.
Shelter hours are: Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday.
