At this time, our Island animal shelter remains open for official business and by appointment only.

It’s been another big week for adoptions. An angel has come for Jack, the shy, orange tabby cat. And Harris, the baby bunny, has found a home for Easter. And last, but of course not least, Cloud, the gray male kitty, has an adoption pending.

Now we need someone to fall for Summer, like everyone here has. Summer is a nine-year old, female Ragdoll/Bobtail mix cat who is beautiful and has a lovely disposition. She has the face of a calico, with striking blue eyes, and her body is bi-color. Although she doesn’t like to be held she is as affectionate as could be and just adores belly rubs. And she still enjoys playtime. Summer has a respiratory issue so the adoption fee will be waived for the angel that gives her a home.

Also available for adoption are two female, baby Guinea Pigs. Both of these babies are hand raised.

If anyone is in need of cat or dog food, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. And if anyone needs any crates we have an abundance and are happy to share. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.

The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662. Hours are: Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday.
