The Island animal shelter remains open for official business and by appointment only.
Tux, the beautiful, long-haired tuxedo, has left for her new home. And Bear, the Aussie/Chow mix, has found a home as well. Let’s keep those adoptions coming!
A new resident joined us last week. Louie is a three-year old, medium-haired tabby. He’s a large boy and may have some Maine Coon in him. This is a sweet, gentle, calm cat who will make a lovely companion. He’s neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. Come scoop this guy up.
Who wants a baby bunny? A 10-week old, black male rabbit is here waiting for his new home. This little darling, Harris, has been hand raised and is quite snuggly; we know he’s going to be an awesome pet. Come check him out. Very sweet!
We have a few cats in need of homes. Jack is a 12-year old orange male who needs a home ASAP. He’s depressed and needs a home with love to feel secure again. He likes to hide but does respond to petting. He’s got to be sweet, he’s an orange male. Anyone have some love to share for this boy?
We have a special needs cat looking for a home as an only cat. Summer is a nine-year old calico-headed Ragdoll/Bobtail mix with blue eyes who is very beautiful and sweet as can be. This girl has a true ragdoll personality, adores attention and loves to play. She suffers from a respiratory issue that has been difficult to treat. Her test results were negative for FIP and she is going to be tested for allergies. The adoption fee will be waived for anyone who has it in their heart to give her a home.
Our other tabby looking for a home is Holly, who has been with us for over three years now. She’s about seven, and has been living as the shelter cat. Being out and about has helped her become more trusting of people. She will need someone with cat savvy due to her unique feline personality.
We have two adorable Abyssinian Guinea Pig sisters, about 12 weeks old. One is brown and white with adorable white eyebrows and a white blaze. We call her Miss T, while the other is a white and black and named Bonnie. Volunteers have been handling these babies to be sure they adore people when they go to their new homes.
If anyone would like to make a donation from our wish list we are in need of laundry detergent, bleach, air freshener, paper towels and toilet paper.
Thanks to all for the donations of used towels; no more are needed at this time.
If anyone is in need of cat or dog food, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food. And if anyone needs any crates we have an abundance and are happy to share. Just give us a call.
