Well once again we experienced New England weather. We had warm sun, lots of wind rain and snow within a four-day period. I heard someone saying that they carry their umbrella, flip flops, mittens and suntan lotion. So true.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Emily Freeman and Alexis Lavigne, who celebrated April 25; Alexia Vieira and Adriana Young, April 26; Madison Mello, Hudson Smith, April 27; Finnegan McDonald, Sophia Pereira, Paige Smith, April 28; Dylan Klein, Sierra Meuse, Clara Rabeni, April 29; and to Carter Braillard and Ariel Meyer who celebrate their day, April 30.

We can say that town is waking up. Or you can also say it is waking you up. I left the house last week and Hagerty Tree was outside getting ready to trim the trees on my street. Then I turned the corner and the sign was out that the streetsweeper was on the road. Then I turned towards the Stop & Shop and the sign said the guys were flushing the pipes. We have not seen that much action in a long time.

Town is also starting to bud out and the trees are waiting to burst out their leaves. The hydrangeas are getting green, the cherry and dogwood trees are showing their white and pink blossoms, and the grass is getting greener. It is such a pretty time I hope you can get out and enjoy it.

The Edgartown School PTA is hosting drive-in movie nights at the MV Ice Arena parking lot in May (which sounds far away but isn’t). On May 7, they are offering up Jumanji — Welcome to the Jungle and on May 8, the show is Gnomeo and Juliet.

Mother’s Day is next weekend, and it is also Pink and Green weekend. There will be a Pink and Green dog show at the Mini Park, plus many more activities and sales.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
