We are happy to report that adoptions are still happening. This past week we saw both Catticus and Jenny leave for new homes. And Jelly has an adoption pending. Hoping for the best all around.

This week we’re featuring a pair of seven-years old, male tuxedo cats. Their names are Miles and Mingus and they’re definitely cool cats. Mingus is the larger of the two and sports a black soul patch, while Miles has a white blaze. And you couldn’t find friendlier cats. It’s obvious that these two were loved and well taken care of. It would be nice if they could stay together but it’s not necessary. These cats are up-to-date and ready to go.

We also have four female Guinea pigs in need of homes. They’ve all been hand raised and very friendly. Adopt a piggie and bring some fun onto your life.

With the current temperatures please be mindful of pavement and vehicle temperatures, and consider leaving your best friend at home. And remember to keep up with flea and tick treatments, as well as checking your pets and yourself.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.

The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662.
