Our featured animals this week are a pair of seven-years old, male tuxedo cats. Their names are Miles and Mingus and you may remember this jazzy duo from a previous column. Yes, they were adopted and have returned due to no fault of their own. They’re still definitely cool cats. Mingus is the larger of the two and sports a black soul patch, while Miles has a white blaze. And you couldn’t find friendlier cats.

It’s obvious that these two were loved and well taken care of. It would be nice if they could stay together but it’s not necessary. These cats are up-to-date and ready to go, so come scoop these guys up, you won’t be sorry.

We also have four female Guinea pigs in need of homes. They’ve all been hand raised and very friendly. Adopt a piggie and bring some fun onto your life!

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share.

The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.

The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662.
