As expected, the two adolescent kittens were snapped right up. Congratulations to the boys and their new families.

This week we’re featuring Prudy. Prudy is a very pretty, four-year old tabby girl with a fluffy black tail. As for personality, she is sweet as sugar. This girl is up-to-date and ready to go. And she’s even dog friendly. Come and get her and bring some early holiday cheer to your home.

Our other cats looking for homes for the holidays are Faith, a calico in her 20s. Although she’s blind and deaf she’s hanging in there and just a someplace and warm and loving in her dotage. Due to her advanced age Faith’s adoption fee will be waived. And Miles is a seven-year old tuxedo who is very playful and has a great personality.

How about a Guinea pig or two for the holidays? We have four super friendly girls: Bonnie, Miss T, Humpty and Dumpty to choose from. All have been hand-raised and are very friendly.

The shelter would also like to thank everyone who bid on the ASMV Holiday Auction. Your support is valued. We have a new site with the unbid on items that supporters can buy or use the site to make a donation. We cannot thank you enough for your kindness and support. And a big thank you to Sherry and Zoe for making this happen. We couldn’t have done it without you.

We’d also like to remind everyone that hunting season is here and continues through the end of the year. Remember to wear bright colors when walking in the woods, and keep your dogs leashed. And please stay out of wooded areas around dawn and dusk.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.
