This week we’re happy to report that Miles, the jazzy, cool cat, has found his forever home. Now he has someone to make beautiful music with.

Our featured pet this week is Willie, a nine-year-old, tabby and white male. Willie came here with his orange and white brother, Charlie, but the two do not need to stay together. Willie is super friendly and enjoys a good head butt and lots of petting, and he’ll basically follow you wherever you go. Both Willie and Charlie are lovely, affectionate cats that would be an asset to any family. Could that family be yours?

As for our other residents we have our two elderly ladies, Maxine and Faith. Adoptions fees will be waived for the angels who give these cats homes for their final days. We also have four female Guinea pigs, and a female, black and white rabbit named Pesto in need of homes. They’ve all been hand-raised and are extremely friendly.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.

The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662. Hours are: Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 to 5 p.m.
