We have adoptions to report. Charlie, the orange and white cat who came here with his brother Willie (who is still available), has found his forever home. And two of the Guinea pig girls have moved on to new surroundings as well. Congratulations to all.

This week’s featured pet is a nine-years old, lab/husky mix named Max. He’s a very good dog, is up-to-date on vaccines, gets along with other dogs and loves everyone. This boy would be an easy fit for any family.

As for our other residents we have our two elderly cats, Maxine and Faith. Adoption fees will be waived for the angels who give these ladies homes for their final days. And Willie, the tabby and white male, is still waiting for someone to fall in love with him. We also have two female Guinea pigs Humpty and Dumpty, a female, black and white rabbit named Pesto, and a hamster all in need of homes. They’ve all been hand-raised and are extremely friendly.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.

The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662.
