Mark your calendars: the Rabies Clinic is back. The ASMV Rabies Clinic will be held on March 19 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the West Tisbury Public Safety Building located at 425 State Road. The fee is $25 and must be paid in the form of cash or a check. Dogs must be leashed and cats need to be in carriers. Hope to see you then.
The big news this week is that Petey the Jack Russell has an adoption pending. Fingers crossed for this to be a success for this good boy.
This week we’re featuring Sylvester, a five-year old male tuxedo cat. Sylvester is a big, handsome boy. He just joined us and is unsure of his surroundings so hasn’t come out of his shell yet but so far seems to be a very sweet cat. Come by and see if he responds to you. Who knows, he could turn out to be the love of your life.
Our other residents in need of homes include Faith, our 22-year old cat; Lily, the 16-year old young tortoiseshell; Humpty and Dumpty, the guinea pig sisters; Fred, the male guinea pig; and Ophelia the fun hamster. Any of these pets would love to find a forever home. Maybe it could be with you.
The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.
The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662. Hours are: Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
