We have an adoption to report. Lola, the 15-years-young Russian Blue cat, was snapped right up and is now in a forever home. We’re so happy for this sweet girl.

Our featured pet this week is Petey! Yes, this isn’t the first time you’ve seen Petey, he has been featured here before. Petey is a 15-years-young Jack Russell terrier/dachshund cross. Petey is a very good boy, he adores people and other dogs but cats just aren’t his thing. He also loves to go for long walks where he can explore, but he needs to remain on leash since he has lost his hearing.

Our other animals in need of homes include Faith, our 22-year-old feline, Lily, the 16-year-old tortoishell kitty, Humpty and Dumpty the Guinea pig sisters, Fred the male Guinea pig, and Ophelia is the hamster cutie.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.

The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662.
