This week’s adoption news is that in the past week a litter of kittens came in and all have found homes. And sweet, older tortoiseshell cat Lily has been adopted as well.

Our featured pet this week is Sandy, a female, buff and white cat. She’s about a year old and couldn’t be sweeter, a real lap cat. If you’re looking for a snuggle buddy, this is your girl. Come and get her!

There are three great dogs looking for new homes. Captain is a two-year old, silky terrier mix who is a sweet, quiet, well-behaved boy. He is neutered and ready to go.

Jack may be an elderly gentleman, but he’s very distinguished, and a true gentleman. He’s a hound mix and very cute, up to date and ready to go. And so is Tag, a nine-years young male springer spaniel/labrador retriever/boxer mix who is being re-homed due to no fault of his own. He’s a good boy who is still playful and lots of fun. Can you give any of these dogs a forever home?

Our other animals in need of homes are the two elderly felines. Faith, is 22 years old and Lily is the very sweet, little tortoiseshell kitty. Both of these cats would love to find a forever home, maybe it could be with you?

It’s spring cleaning season so if you have any items you would like to donate to the shelter, please make an appointment rather than just leaving them at the door.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours: Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
