An Oak Bluffs man was sentenced to up to four years in state prison last Friday for possession of child pornography in a case that dates to 2020.

Stephen Jenkinson, 54, pleaded guilty to four counts of possession of child pornography before the Hon. Mark Gildea, an associate justice of the superior court.

Judge Gildea sentenced the defendant to a minimum of three and maximum of four years in the Massachusetts Correctional Institute at Cedar Junction, a maximum security prison in Walpole. The prison sentence will be followed by three years of probation. Conditions of probation will include registering as a sex offender, sex offender counseling and GPS monitoring.

Mr. Jenkinson was arraigned in Edgartown district court in February 2020. The case moved to superior court when he was indicted by a Dukes County grand jury in March 2021.
