We have good things to report this week. The beautiful long-haired, orange and white, stray cat has been reunited with her owners who were delighted to be reunited with their girl. A happy ending. And the buff and white kitty, Sandy, has moved on to her new forever home.

This week the pet of the week is and absolute ten! Buddy is a big, handsome, tuxedo cat with purrfect markings. This is a very laid-back boy who is here due to no fault of his own. His owner moved out of the country and, unfortunately, he was too heavy to take on the plane, so he wound up here. Buddy is a love and would be a great addition of any family.

There are three dogs in need of forever homes. Cooper is a year-old, male, hound mix. He’s a sweet, smart, friendly boy with lots of puppy exuberance who will need a home with someone who can keep up with his training, which he’s excelling at. Jack is an older gentleman. He’s a hound mix and very cute, up-to-date and ready to go. Tag is a nine-year-old, male, Springer Spaniel/Labrador Retriever/Boxer mix who is being re-homed due to no fault of his own. He’s a good boy who’s still playful and lots of fun.

We also have a few cats in need of homes. There are two female calicos, Aunt and Niece, who we hope can stay together. Sheba is seven and Nina is six, both indoor/outdoor, very sweet, spayed, up-to-date and ready to move in with you. Vinny, a two-year-old, male, white cat with tabby markings. He can be a bit shy, but is very affectionate with his family, a real lap cat.

And if you’re not a dog or cat person we also have two, large black, female rabbits (Laverne and Shirley), and two male calico Guinea pigs in need of homes.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit.
