Where are the turkeys? Not many appearances since the big Tom was hit and killed by a truck on Franklin street. For five days after that I had nothing, then perhaps three to five. Then seven to ten returned. But not the thirteen to thirty like I used to have. I miss my fine-feathered friends.

My neighbor Charlie Esposito received the Creative Living Award last Thursday. Charlie is a multi-talented musician, producer, chef, friend and one of our stalwarts at the Performing Arts Center. These awards are made in memory of Ruth Bogan. TCD, Charlie’s first Island band from the 70s — that’s Timothy, Charles, and Duane — reunited at the ceremony and played many songs. Congratulations, Charlie!

Katie Viera reports that Yoga for Living was a great success at our Center for Living. More than $6,000 was raised to aid dementia and Alzheimer’s services for our people.

Our great Island artist Billie Jean Sullivan made a birthday wish for donations to Connect to End Domestic Violence last Saturday at LadyFest. Our ninth celebration! Checks are still being accepted. Many attendees report that the event was fabulous! Food, vendors, lots of Island musicians and bands performed. Sharon Fisher was there for all seven hours. Wes Stokes also attended. Wes is wonderful to help out at so many community events.
