This week’s adoption news is that Bengal kitty Winnie has moved on to her forever home. Congratulations everyone, here’s to years of fun.
We have a pair of featured pets this week: two hound dogs. Ernie is a six-year old American foxhound and Ellie is a three-year old American foxhound cross. They do not need to be adopted together. Both are very sweet dogs, are housetrained and know their basic commands, but they are not fond of cats. And if any hunters are interested, they are trained to hunt rabbit and fox. Come on down and meet these sweethearts. They could be a great addition to your family.
Our cat room has cleared out quite a bit but we also have some wonderful felines in need of homes. Dee Dee, a calico, is only a year old and a little bit shy but should blossom once she’s secure in her own home. Teaser is a five-year old, female tuxedo with the softest coat. And Alice is a petite, two-year old tabby who thinks she’s the boss. She can be quite affectionate, gets along with dogs but not cats, and would do best with an experienced cat owner.
Looking for a gift for the person/people who have everything? Please consider making a donation to the shelter in their name. It’s the perfect gift for any occasion.
The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.
