Chappy’s own Donna Enos has begun her career as a TV star. She recently recorded the first episode of her brand-new MVTV cooking show, Baking By Donna Enos, Amazing Christmas Cookies. She is a natural at both baking and acting. Her show can be viewed any time by logging onto MVTV.org and choosing the on-demand option.

In other good news, the Chappy Community Center 2023 calendar is now available for purchase. You can order them online at chappycommunitycenter.org and have them shipped to your home or picked up at the center.

Reminders of activities at the community center: Yoga with Jay continues on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. There are two more sessions of Knit, Craft and Chat before Christmas: on Sunday, Dec. 11 and 18 at 3 p.m. The Holiday Tea is also on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 3 p.m. The Chappy Ferry captain and crew appreciation dinner is on Wednesday, Dec. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information see the CCC website or email chappyccenter@gmail.com.

The Chappy minivan/Medivan service operates on Tuesdays to get you to the big ferry for off-island medical appointments. The service is door to door. Contact the Edgartown Council on Aging at 508-627-4368 or edgartowncoa.com.

The Edgartown select board will hold a hearing to consider a fare increase for the Chappy Ferry on Monday Dec. 12 at 4:05 p.m. Find the Zoom link and a complete list of proposed fare changes on the town’s website at edgartown-ma.us.

A subcommittee of the Chappy Ferry steering committee will meet on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m. to discuss changes to the lease and license under which the ferry currently operates. Find the Zoom link and agenda at edgartown-ma.us.

The Chappy Ferry will operate on an abbreviated schedule on Christmas morning. The ferry will make a trip on the hour every hour from 7 to 11 a.m. Continuous service will resume at noon.
