It’s been a week with no adoptions to report but we still have some lovely animals in need of homes.

This week’s featured pet is Dee Dee, a sweet, one-year old calico that is playful and quite affectionate. Dee Dee can be shy at times, but we feel she will blossom when she feels comfortable in her own home. She is indoor/outdoor but can be an escape artist in hopes of getting outside. She is also spayed, up to date on vaccines and ready to go. This girl needs a home and would be a wonderful companion.

Our other residents in need of homes are Max, a chocolate Labrador retriever/Husky cross who is a well-behaved, friendly dog but he’s not a fan of cats. And Alice is a two-year old, torbi and white cat who is looking for a home with experienced cat owners. She’s a very affectionate girl who adores people and attention, but believes she’s the queen. She tolerates dogs but would prefer to be an only cat.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.

The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662. Hours are: Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
