Abbe Burt and Christina Colarusso will once more compete in the Tisbury select board race, with political newcomer MacAleer Schilcher also filing papers for the seat formerly held by Larry Gomez.

In January, Ms. Burt narrowly defeated Ms. Colarusso, 188-179, in a race that included two other candidates seeking to serve the remaining few months of Mr. Gomez’s term, which was cut short by illness.

The winner of May’s election will begin a new three-year term on the select board.

Other candidates on the ballot include Christine Burke and Jean Llewellyn, vying for a single three-year vacancy on the library board of trustees; Carolyn Ruth Henderson, unopposed for a one-year term on the library board; Louis Pashman and Ruth Davis Konigsberg, competing for one three-year seat on the finance and advisory committee and Donald Rose, unopposed for moderator.

Incumbents seeking re-election without opposition are planning board member Ben Robinson, school committee member Jennifer (Jen) Cutrer, constable Kenneth Barwick, town clerk J. Hillary Conklin, board of assessors member James B. Norton, board of health member Jeffrey Pratt and representative to the Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank, Nancy Weaver.

Voting takes place from noon to 8 p.m. May 9 at the town’s emergency services facility on Spring street. Absentee ballot applications are available at tisburyma.gov/home/news/annual-town-election-may-9-2023.
