The Vineyard Gazette Media Group will host a reception and open house on Friday, April 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. to honor retiring publisher Jane Seagrave and welcome new publisher Monica Brady-Myerov. The event will be held at the Gazette office at 34 South Summer street in Edgartown. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

Ms. Seagrave, who lives in West Tisbury, retired this month after 13 years as publisher of the media group. Her retirement caps a distinguished career in journalism that spans more than four decades on both the editorial and business side of the profession, including as a senior vice president at the Associated Press. Ms. Brady-Myerov, who is living in Edgartown, is a longtime journalist and digital entrepreneur who formerly worked at WBUR in Boston.
