The Chappaquiddick Island Association (CIA) annual meeting will be held at the community center on Saturday, August 3 starting at 9 a.m. Coffee and refreshments will be provided prior to the meeting coming to order. The Edgartown fire and police chiefs, town administrator, representatives of TTOR and Sheriff’s Meadow will speak. This is a golden opportunity to ask questions and express your concerns.

The next single-issue meeting hosted by the CIA’s environmental committee is on Thursday, June 20 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The discussion is entitled Ticks on Chappaquiddick: The Problem, and What You Can Do About It, and will focus on both the nature and extent of Chappy’s tick problem, as well as what individuals and families can do to be better protected. The annual Chappy Point to Point foot race is scheduled for Sunday, June 30. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. from Wasque. Plan ahead to avoid becoming part of the event if you will be driving on the main road that morning. There are still sign up spots available. This year the race proceeds will be used to fund Chappy Connect, a transportation service for older Chappy residents.

The next Chappy Community Center potluck supper is on Wednesday, June 19 from 6 to 8.

The Slipaway ​farmstand is open Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Plants, mixed bouquets, lettuce and garlic scapes are in plentiful supply.
