Great news, torbi cat Flo’s adoption has been finalized. Congratulations all around.

Our pet of the week is Baby Cakes, a two-year-old, medium-hair, female tabby. Baby Cakes is very shy and will need an owner with patience and understanding. However, we’re finding that once she gets accustomed to you she is very sweet and affectionate. We know there’s that special someone out there for her.

Also in need of a home is Julius, a four-year-old, male ferret. Julius is a brown and white bandit ferret who has been hand-raised and is very sweet. As a bonus he comes with his cage and enough food to last for the next six to twelve months. Julius is not at the shelter so if you’d like to meet him, please contact us to make an appointment.

Please join us for our annual Garden Party on Monday, June 24 from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets please visit animalshelterofmv.ejoinme.org/attend.

Did you know we regularly offer our services to the Island’s animal control officers and provide as much help as we can?

With the hot summer weather coming be aware of the temperature when

thinking of taking your best friend on an outing with you. Hot pavement can burn tender pads and a hot car can become deadly in a matter of minutes.

Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours: 508-627-8662.

Hours are: Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 to 5 p.m.
