We have adoptions to report. Yorkie Tito’s adoption has been finalized, and Labrador Retrievers, Biscuit and Homer, are out on a test run with an adoption pending. Congratulations to Tito and his new family, and best of luck to Biscuit and Homer.

Our pet of the week is Nellie, a 12-year-old, medium hair, torbi cat. Nellie will need a special angel to adopt her as she is shy and fearful and will require a very patient owner who can coax her out of her shell. Nellie’s adoption fee will be waived due to her age.

Last weekend’s nail clinic raised $480 for the shelter. Six cats, 16 dogs, one rabbit and one Guinea Pig all had their nails trimmed. Thank you to Ellen Blodgett.

Did you know that we get many calls regarding lost and found animals. We keep a log of these pets, advise owners to call their local Animal Control Officer, and to actively use social media to help locate their pet.

The hot summer weather is here, be aware of the temperature when thinking of taking your best friend on an outing with you. Hot pavement can burn tender pads and a hot car can become deadly in a matter of minutes. Leave your best friend home.
