There are no adoptions to report this week, but our pet of the week is Nellie.

Nellie is a beautiful 13-year-old, medium hair, torbi cat. She will need a special angel to adopt her as she is shy and fearful. She is beginning to come around but will require a very patient owner who can continue to coax her out of her shell. Nellie’s adoption fee will be waived due to her age.

Hey gerbil lovers we have two, young male gerbils in need of a home. Bert and Ernie are a bonded pair, nine to ten months old, and have been well socialized. One is brown and the other is black and white. These boys will need to be adopted together.

The next nail clinic will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. until noon. Dogs must be leashed and cats, rabbits and Guinea pigs must be in carriers. Walk-ins only; $20 fee.

Did you know that if anyone has a financial need, and/or their pet’s life is in danger, we can assist them with payment going directly to the vet.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need.
