Islanders pull together again. Ben Ferry, born and raised here, now lives in South Carolina. He organized a tractor-trailer of supplies, non-perishable food, water and necessary products. So many Islanders contributed supplies and their time. Thank you all.

The Walking Man, our own Eric Poehler, returned from another successful walking tour in Spain. He will continue practicing here for next year’s excursion.

His wife, artist Kathy Poehker, continued with her seaweed art. The Martha’s Vineyard Museum has opened an exhibit from Oct. 5 through Jan. 26, 2025. It is in the Grain Gallery at our museum. The title is The Secret Life of Seaweed. The museum approached her to contribute to this exhibit.

Carol Borselle has returned from visiting her family and friends in Sweden. She had a lovely visit.

The Tisbury Council on Aging is offering free American Sign Language lessons on the next two Tuesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The Vineyard Haven Library is featuring the paintings of Harriet Bernstein in their Art in the Stacks downstairs room. Don’t miss it.

Get well wishes go out to Linda Cook and Jeff Petre. Continue get well wishes to my friend, George Tucker, who is out and free again from his recent hospital excursion.

The birthday bandwagon honored Colin Ruel on Oct. 15. Many happy returns.
