It is November, and my October fuel bill was $18. I am not complaining, and if November weather stays like it is the bill might not be too much more. The only complaint I have at this time of year is why the leaves can’t all fall off the trees at once. Just when you get the yard all raked the wind blows some more off. I guess if that is all to complain about, we are lucky.
Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Samantha De Freitas, who celebrated Nov. 1; Davi Soares, Nov. 3; Zoe Tucker, Bernardo Amaral, Brooklyn Cancellare Nov. 4; Emma Braillard, Nov. 5; and to Michael Leahy who celebrates his day Nov. 8.
I was away this past weekend watching my great great nephews play in their playoff football league. Both boys are in different divisions but played the same day at different times. The weather was perfect, and it was a long day. Oliver’s team lost their game in the morning and Jonah’s team won that afternoon. It was that quick lesson and teaching of the meaning of losing and winning as Jonah got a medal and Oliver didn’t. I know it is a lesson we all learn but it is hard when it is actually happening. Oliver is looking forward to next year and maybe some flag football this winter, whereas Jonah announced his retirement, as he is going to be an art teacher because there was too much running and too much equipment to put on. He may play basketball because it only requires sneakers and a T-shirt. We all smiled and did not mention the running. We will see what happens next spring.
Now the focus is on Christmas for them, and they are wondering when Jethro will arrive. Jethro is Santa’s elf, keeping track of how well the children behave. Jethro does not sit in one place and the kids are always on the lookout on where they will find him because he is known to hide in very difficult places. He is there for the month of December, well, until Christmas and Santa picks him up when he delivers the presents and takes him home to the North Pole.
By the time you read this we will have a new president. I hope it is a safe transition and we are all safe. I personally am very happy not to listen to any more political ads on TV.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
