Debbie MacInnis and I were going to The Barn in Oak Bluffs along Beach Road to play trivia. While we were talking, we both noticed in Harthaven a red ball that we couldn’t identify. Then, when we passed the houses, we saw the big red Beaver moon on the rise. It literally looked like it was coming out of the water. The cars in front of us were also slowing down to take in the sight. We are so lucky to be able to witness nature at its best.

The girls were finishing up decorating the town trees, representing each town, under the pergola. For some reason, I started to smile remembering decorating our tree when we lived in Fall River. My brothers would come home and we would all have a hand in putting our favorite ornament on the tree. But the ultimate best was putting on the tinsel. My brothers and I would take great pride in seeing how far away we could throw the tinsel on the tree from a distance. I am not sure how pleased my mother was because there was a fair amount on the floor and of course it was in clumps on the tree because it was stored in an old Whitman box that once held chocolates and last year’s tinsel. We thought the tree looked great clumps and all.
Hospice is calling all artisans for their holiday fundraiser, Homemade from the Heart. If you wish to donate, call 508-693-0189 by Dec. 9.
I wish you all a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. Please travel safely if you are traveling and I hope you can all enjoy your family. Remember your elderly neighbors if they are alone. A phone call goes a long way on many days, especially holidays.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
