The Martha’s Vineyard Author Series will feature former First Lady Michelle Obama at its August 23 event at the Performing Arts Center in Oak Bluffs.

This will be the 12th and final event of this summer’s series. Tickets for the event go on sale Tuesday, July 28 at noon.

Ms. Obama will discuss her new book The Look in conversation Michele Norris, senior contributing editor for MSNBC and founder of The Race Card Project. The book traces the former First Lady’s style evolution — from her childhood to her years as the first Black First Lady to her life today.

“It’s a true honor to welcome Michelle Obama to the Author Series,” wrote Suellen Lazarus, director of the Martha’s Vineyard Book Festival and Author Series, in an announcement of the event. “Her voice has shaped public conversation for two decades, and we’re grateful she’s chosen to share it with our audience.”

The talk begins at 5 p.m. on August 23. Tickets, which include a copy of The Look, are available at mvbookfestival.org.
