For this week’s adoptions we would like to report that the 16-week-old Labrador Retriever mix, Elroy, is out on a trial. He’s such a good, smart boy that we’re pretty confident he’s found his home.

And Humpty and Dumpty have finally found their forever home. Thank you to Mary Holmes who adopted them for the MV Center for Living. They are now in a place where they will be showered with affection and can sing the praises of all their new friends.

There are three great dogs looking for new homes. Captain is a two-year-old, Silky Terrier mix that is neutered and ready to go. This is a very sweet, quiet, well-behaved boy who only wants to be with you. He’s be an asset to any home so give us a call if you’d like to meet him. Jack may be an elderly gentleman, but he’s very distinguished, and a true gentleman. He’s a hound mix and very cute, up-to-date and ready to go. Tag is a nine-year-old, male, Springer Spaniel/Labrador Retriever/Boxer mix who is being re-homed due to no fault of his own. He’s a good boy who’s still playful and lots of fun.

Our other animals in need of homes are the two elderly felines: 22-year-old Faith, and Lily, a very sweet, little tortoiseshell kitty.

It’s Spring-cleaning season, so if you have any items you would like to donate to the Shelter please make an appointment rather than just leaving them at the door.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit.

Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours. The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662.
