Our pets of the week are Rocco and Meadow, two sweet, adorable and very friendly Guinea Pigs.

Rocco is a short-haired, tri-color male who is about six years old and really loves his veggies, but isn’t a fan of fruit. Meadow is a long-haired, light tri-color girl who is only one year old and loves to sit in your lap and get some loving. Both are just sweet as can be, and have been hand raised. Either one, or both, are ready and waiting to join you in your home. The next nail clinic takes place on Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.; walks-ins only, $20 cash or check.

Last Saturday was another productive visit from All Pet’s Medical Center. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact them at 508-743-8338. However, due to scheduling issues with the Steamship they may not be able to return to the Island until September. Stay tuned for updated information.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit.

Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Hours are: Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 to 5 p.m.
