We have sun, cold, and now we have snow. After watching the weather, they are saying February may be active with crazy weather, so let’s see what Mother Nature sends us.
Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Harper Kelly who celebrated Feb. 8; Isabella Hill, Davi Castilho, Finnian Welch, Feb. 9; Lucca Rosa, Feb. 10; Josiah Stennett, Miquel Marques, Feb. 12; and to Moreira Furtado and Bryson Felix who celebrate their day on Feb. 14.
There are those who love snow, some who like snow and then there are those who really do not like snow at all. I personally like it when it is falling and for a few days after, but then I want it to be gone. And yet, when I was in Oak Bluffs and coming home down New York avenue and saw the snow-covered hills by Sunset Lake and the pond frozen where the water was not circulating and the house on the hill with just enough snow on the roof, it was a perfect New England picture of winter. Then, driving by Ocean Park, the bandstand was standing alone, and the snow around it was untouched, not even a goose print and the sun gave it that nice shiny texture. So okay, maybe it can stay a little longer.
Of course, with the four to six inches of snow we got there was a lot of shoveling to do. The plows were out and people snow-blowing sidewalks, then cleaning off cars.
Hearing about people who were snowed in and how their young neighbors came over to shovel them out made me smile. I’m not sure if they know how much their kind acts were appreciated, so here is another thank you.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
