It was an action-packed week. Many visitors were on Island for Easter, spring break and looking for summer jobs, and the weather has finally taken a nice turn to sunny and warm temperatures. Patriots Day was sunny and safe at the Boston Marathon. John Korrir of Kenya won in the men’s division, joining his brother, Wesley Korrir who won in 2012. They are the only set of brothers who have both won. Sharon Lokadi set a record in winning in the women’s division. Congratulations to all who participated.

Quin and Chris Colbert spent the afternoon at Fenway watching the Marathon Monday Red Sox game. Two of my favorite people.

Betty Burton and John Sundnan are pleased to be hosting their daughter Grace Lilian and her husband Rudy along with their two children. This young family lives in Rotterdam. Two weeks here! The kids are two and a half Sana Laena and new son, Alistair John Hans Stuurman. Alistair was just born in January. Welcome to the Vineyard!

With great sadness I say that Dave Perzanowski of Vineyard Scripts passed last week. Dave was a kind and caring man. A friend to all. This will take a long time to get used to.

I also must mention the passing of the Pope on Easter Monday. Such a thoughtful and compassionate man.

The birthday bandwagon pulled along Eleanor Hebert on April 19th. Many Happy returns.
