A celebration of the life of Nan Winkelman will be held on Sept. 10. Friends are invited to an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. at her home.

Col. Herbert David Maddox of Plattsburg, N.Y. died August 10. He was 97.

Catherine Burke of Westport, Conn. and formerly of Edgartown, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 23. She was 86.

Jeanne B. (Park) Rudnick, former of Newton and Vineyard Haven, died on August 19. She was 87.

Linda J. (Garvin) Scott died peacefully of metastatic colon cancer on August 22, surrounded by family and friends. She was 61.

Nancy Winterbottom of Brookline and Vineyard Haven died in her sleep on August 17 in Oak Bluffs. She was 81.

A remembrance for Jack Carbon will be held at the Memorial Wharf in Edgartown on Sept. 18 at 2 p.m.

Isabel Schaefer Cahill of Vero Beach, Fla. and Martha’s Vineyard died peacefully at her home on August 13. She was 93.

James T. Cunningham died peacefully on Sunday, August 14, surrounded by the comfort and love of his immediate family. He was 75.
