This is the time of year when we turn to our celestial clock to tell us what we already know — that the seasons are shifting almost without notice. Vineyarders need no formal seasonal markers to measure where the year stands. Summer begins on Wednesday at 12:24 a.m. The arrival of the summer solstice brings us our longest day of the year, with fifteen hours and seventeen minutes of sunlight.
