The first snow of the year, a blazing orange sunset on a summer night in Menemsha, pumpkins at Alley’s, the December full moon. The moments that make up a year on Martha’s Vineyard, captured on camera by Gazette photographers and contributors.

These are the photos that were most popular on the Vineyard Gazette Instagram and Facebook pages.

In 1961/1962 I was stationed at the former Coast Guard LORAN-C Station at Gay Head. Since I lived in Vineyard Haven I always passed Alley's Store, and I occasionally stopped to look around, perhaps make a purchase. I still have - and use - a small ball peen hammer that I purchased there in 1961. (NOTE: I was fortunate enough to get Sylvia May Serpa of Edgartown to be my bride. Magnificient choice I made, don't speak for her)
