Piglets bite. Alison L. Mead

Monday, August 22, 2016

The annual Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Society Livestock Show and Fair is the place to be in August for people of all ages and animals of all species. Fairgoers line up for a turn on the Ferris wheel and to sample fried dough, while newborn piglets, goats and sheep hold down the fort in the barns. In the main hall,  blue-ribbon-winning quilts, jams, and pumpkins are on display. An Island tradition for more than a century and a half, all roads lead to the fair when it arrives on Martha's Vineyard in mid-August.
