A family of four was first in line at the entrance booth Thursday morning, waiting to buy their tickets for the first day of the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society’s 155th Agricultural fair.
The fair posters around the Island mean it is time for cotton candy, blue ribbons and racing pigs. The 155th Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society Livestock Show and Fair opens Thursday and runs through Sunday, August 21.
For four days the Agricultural Fair lured Islanders and visitors from the beaches and golf courses to West Tisbury for livestock shows, tractor pulls, rides, games and food galore.
With the 154th annual Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society Livestock Show and Fair less than a week away, farmers across the Island are preparing goats and alpacas, tomatoes and berries to compete for blue ribbons.
