The Tisbury Travel Club is headed to Boston, the Museum of Fine Arts to be exact.
The club will be heading out on Jan. 10 leaving on the 8:15 a.m. boat and returning at 5 p.m.
The cost for the trip to Boston is $42, which includes admission to the museum. The travel club is a nonprofit organization and anyone can take part in the trip.

Well over 200 people attended the gallery opening of The Art of the Ceramic Bowl at Featherstone this Sunday, which kicked off with a fund-raising effort that gave new meaning to a common Vineyard abbreviation. The event, which sought to raise money for the purchase of Featherstone’s new kiln, was Buy Your Own Bowl.
The artists and craftsmen living at Island Elderly Housing, Inc. (IEH) will be holding a show of their work on Oct. 9 from 1 to 3 p.m. This is the third annual show featuring the work of the residents and has become a “must do” event on Columbus Day Weekend.
What could be finer than the August Art Gallery Stroll around Edgartown, taking place this Thursday evening? Harbor breezes will carry the music of the Mike Benjamin Band from the Eisenhauer Gallery porch, while inside the exhibit includes the Michel Brosseau work pictured above.
Louisa Gould Gallery is hosting a holiday open house on Saturday, Dec. 18, from noon to 4 p.m.
The Small Wonders exhibit is on view with works by Doug Kent, John Holladay, Louisa Gould, Charles Fran Kenney, Laura Roberts, Kathryn Wronski, Maya Farber, Leslie Kenney and Francesa Kennedy.
There will be free gift wrapping along with refreshments and goodies served.

Pep Art will open a new exhibition, Sea Art, this Friday, Sept. 3, featuring ocean field paintings by Clifford Smith. Other exhibiting artists include Elizabeth Cecil, Jennifer Langhammer, Suzanne Schireson, Carrie Mae Smith, Greg Watson and David Wright.

West Tisbury Library will be hosting an art reception on Oct. 8 at 4 p.m. entitled Painting as a Journey into Self featuring artist JoAnne Scotford Rice.
Ms. Rice is an expressive arts therapist with interests in genealogy, Island history, American Indian spirituality, and Theravada Buddhism.
This retrospective of her work reveals her many interests as well as her journey through art and its many mediums including painting, drawing and photography.
The Carol Craven Gallery has on display a portrait of our country’s first black cabinet member, Dr. Robert Clifton Weaver (1907-1997), commissioned in 1968 to be painted by Island artist Stan Murphy.
Mr. Weaver was the first United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
Louisa Gould Gallery hosts an opening reception for its last summer show, Vineyard Abstraction — Point of View, on Saturday, Sept. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Curated by Roberta Gross, a teacher and painter of abstract art, the exhibition will feature new artwork by Tobias Allen, Ed Cohen, Roberta Gross, Margo Ouellette, Marsha Staiger and Gloria Scher. All are welcome to come and enjoy refreshments.
