Beach Road Weekend opened Thursday evening with a Jaws screening, and then switched over to three days and nights of music that saw more than 30 acts travel to the Island to play back-to-back sets on two stages.
On Friday, thousands of concert-goers are expected to descend on Veterans Memorial Park in Vineyard Haven for Beach Road Weekend, the three-day music festival returning in full for the first time since its debut in 2019.
The Oak Bluffs select board discussed diverting ferries in late August to accommodate Beach Road Weekend, but stopped short of endorsing or condemning the idea.
Next summer’s Beach Road Weekend lineup will be headlined by Beck, Wilco, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, the Avett Brothers, Aoife O’Donovan, Billy Strings and Khruangbin.
The three-day music festival taking place July 24 to July 26 at Veteran's Park in Vineyard Haven will include Beck, Norah Jones, Father John Misty, Lake Street Dive and more.
In just two years, Ladyfest has gone from Oak Bluffs debutante to belle of the ball. The female-centered live music festival began as a showcase that overflowed the bar in 2017 and took over Circuit avenue in 2018.
